Jury selection begins in gruesome case
Jury selection began Thursday in the trial of a Boulder woman accused of cutting an unborn baby out of its mother’s womb. Dynel Lane is accused of luring Michelle Wilkins, through a Craigslist ad for baby clothes, into her home last March and slicing the baby from her belly. Wilkins survived, but the baby did not. Lane is charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault, and unlawful termination of a pregnancy. Lane has pleaded not guilty.
