Holiday lights will shine Friday in Old Town

Christmas is coming to Fort Collins. The annual holiday lights in Old Town will be turned on Friday. The lighting ceremony is set to begin at 5:30 in Oak Street Plaza, when a choir and band perform. The switch will flip at about 6:30 p.m. and will be every night until Valentine’s Day. Last year’s display cost the city about $115,000, but a sponsorship from the Downtown Business Authority cut the pricetag by $40,000.
