Hickenlooper asks Supreme Court to curb Colo. AG
Gov. John Hickenlooper wants the state Supreme Court to stop Attorney General Cynthia Coffman from joining lawsuits against the federal government. The move came after Coffman sued over the EPA’s new Clean Power Plan. Hickenlooper’s petition says Coffman lacks the authority to bring these federal lawsuits without permission from the governor. He’s asking the justices to force the Attorney General to withdraw from the lawsuits, claiming she’s wasting taxpayer money and raising questions about the attorney-client relationship with the governor and state agencies.
