Railway renovation to cut down on train traffic in Fort Collins

Train traffic in Fort Collins will be going down by more than half early next year. A Denver-based company is restoring an inactive rail line between Windsor and Greeley. Once its finished, that track will reroute about half of Great Western Railway trains away from Fort Collins, instead having the trains connect with Union Pacific in Greeley. The plans still need to be approved by the Federal Railroad Administration, but the track won’t be operational until January at the earliest.
